We've all made a wish we've regretted, but what if you've asked an archdemon like Belphegor to grant it?

When Ella agrees to help fellow student Jonathan Trent with his audition into a mysterious magic circle, she never thought she'd fall in love with him. Nor did she ever conceived the three freakish judges named Hellmouth, Brimstone and Blackheart were actual demons, sent by Belphegor to recruit Jonathan.

Seduced by the lure of riches, his own Vegas show and not having to care for his aged grandparents, Jonathan enters into Belphegor's service, and despite her own reservations Ella goes with him, in return for Belphegor making her disabled sister walk.

Then when Jonathan starts to behave like the 'The Demon Magician' offstage and Ella learns the true price of his gruesome magic tricks, she knows she has to stop him, but what can she do? Jonathan, has the power of Hell on his side and all she has is Matthew, her mum's hunk of a gardener, who has no idea the demon world exists.

The Demon Magician eBook Alex Dunn

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Demon Magician. Filled with imagination, yet at the same time vivid and real. The characters are very well developed, one can't help wanting the main character Ella to be happy.

It is an exciting read with many twists and turns in the plot, I couldn't put the book down once the story started unfolding. I also love how humanity shines through this well written book. Enjoy!

The Demon Magician eBook Alex Dunn Reviews

The Demon Magician is a book I never thought I wanted or needed, but here we are. Demons, Magic, Love, Fighting for the Good? Falling in love with someone to find out they are toxic (even if it is the magic of the demon)? Alex Dunn has done a wonderful job at creating a jaw-dropping story, characters full of life, and leaving me at the edge of my seat.
I actually was pleasantly surprised at how much I got into this book. The Demon Magician by Alex Dunn, reads like a little more mature version of R.L. Stein, "Goosebumps".
Jonathan is high school student with a lot of responsibilities. His passion and dream is magic and he has found a sure fire way to achieve greatness, but with a catch - involves dealing with demons, which is never a good idea.
Jonathan enlists the help of fellow student Ella, and despite her reservations if it all, agrees as she has a wish of her own - to heal her sister.
But with everything comes a price and sure enough, Jonathan's come's due. Can Ella save him and everybody else?
The Demon Magician is a fun read with interesting characters, a smooth and stead pace and an all around entertaining plot.
As a person who practices white magic, I feel that this book perfectly captures the fear and light heartedness you feel when using magic. The book was well researched in how the hierarchy of magic works and how people at different levels would feel. The characters are in a perfect grey area that we don't truly judge any of them, ok maybe Belphegor a little bit, for what they did. It makes you think more about wants and needs in life and the price they could cost. A must read for anyone.
This is a review by one of my teenage students, who loved this book -

I must admit that at the beginning, I hesitated a bit whether to read this book or not. The first few chapters did nothing but make my doubts and prejudices bigger and stronger, labelling ‘The Demon Magician’ as another ‘Twilight’ with a slightly different setting. ‘We all know how this story is going to end’ I thought, when getting to know Ella and her strange relationship with the even stranger Jonathan; ‘it is just like Shadowhunters Chronicles, the girl falls in love with the guy who is good on the surface but bad deep inside’. What I never expected is how addicted I would become to the intense plot, biting my nails while trying to figure out what was going to happen next.

It is said that we should not judge a book by its cover. Neither should I have judged this one by its title. Even when the plot comes to a point in which it is already a bit too far-fetched, somehow the unexpected twist of the ending completely outweighs that previously mentioned flaw -which, let’s face it, most of the romantic fantasy novels have anyway. I think what I most enjoyed was how the author managed to prove me wrong all those times that I had begun to believe that I could easily predict what was going to occur.

Exciting and thrilling, a compelling page-turner!

Uncaged Review Jonathan wants to be a magician so badly that he’s willing to make a deal with actual demons. It’s up to Ella - his assistant to stop him before things get out of hand. This is my favorite book by Alex Dunn so far. Filled with creepy demons, magic tricks and more. Be careful what you wish for. Reviewed by Jennifer
I really enjoyed this story. It would fall into a YA category for me, as the main characters are rather young. This is reflected in a lot of the dialogue and decisions. The overall story is fun and has exciting twists and turns.

I would have given this 5 stars if the storyline was a little more developed. There are points where I feel like we are rushed along without really knowing the characters and the situation, we're just supposed to catch up. It is a fun quick read that had me thinking about the realities of magic and how frequently wishes can go wrong!
